Candle Safety & Burning Tips
- Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting candles. A trimmed wick will inhibit smoking and carbon build-up at the tip of the wick and provides a cleaner burn.
- Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" or less at all times. Keep candles free of wick trimmings, matches or other matter.
- Avoid putting candles in drafts to prevent rapid and uneven burning or excessive dripping.
- Display candles away from direct light, as they can fade if left in a window or directly exposed to bright light for extended periods of time.
- The first time you light a candle allow it to burn according to the diameter of the candle, for instance if the candle is 4" in diameter, allow it to burn four hours. If a candle is 5" in diameter allow it to burn for five hours. This will allow the candle to burn down more evenly and burn more of the wax. This does not apply to candles with more than one wick.
- Place container candles on a protected, heat resistant surface, well away from anything flammable, and out of the reach of children.
- Do not allow flame to directly touch the side of a glass container. Keep wick trimmed and centered.
- Sides and bottom of container may become hot while the candle is burning. Handle carefully.
- Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter surface or the container itself.
- Extinguish candle before replacing lid.
