The SBA has a program that puts a company's name right in front of hundreds of government purchasing agents and its prime contractors, at no cost to the participating business.
All that is required is to fill out a simple form. Once the SBA receives the completed form, this general information is listed in an on-line computerized directory of small businesses called the Procurement Automated Source System (PASS). This information is basically what you would us-ually tell potential customers about your work.
Federal agencies and their contractors are required to buy from small businesses. Their purchasing agents have found PASS to be a fast effective tool to find sources of products. PASS is also used to identify minority and small firms for possible subcontracting opportunities. Many small businesses have experienced great success as a result of their products being listed on this computerized system. In 1993, the government spent $180 billion on goods and services.
The listing is FREE, and the government even pays the postage
for the form to be mailed. To obtain a "SBA/PASS" form call SBA
at 800-U-ASK-SBA, or your local or regional U.S. Small Business
Administration office. Government buildings and offices are
being decorated or re-decorated every day. Why not by you!
