Getting Published

Many artisans have developed original designs either with your craft merchandise or as decorative painting designs that can be used in many applications like wood, glass, pottery, ceramics, metals, fabrics and others. Have you considered that you could make extra money with these designs by having them published. Select items that have a good sales record. All you need to do is have good photos of the item, detailed instructions on how to make it and a list of what materials are required.

If decorative painting is your line a good way to show the design work is on any item you normally apply the design to. A close up photo should give you enough detail so the publisher can get an idea of your capabilities. If you design crafts then a photo of the completed craft is what you will need. After you have written the instructions, actually make the item following your instructions. This test will assure that you have included everything necessary for someone else to do it following the method you have given.
